Handi Khoh looks most impressive and breathtaking scenery. The gorge presents a silents as well as fascintating vista . It is of 300 ft deep down, and to make you feel its depthness I can say - if you throw a stone here, you will hear sound after 90 secs. It is so sudden deep and sharp that the iron railing is the only thing saving one from an accidental fall.

Now, What I heard about this amazing point from their local guide is two different story - 

  First is the mythological story of lord shiv - There  was lake and a demon snake resided in the lake located here and Mahadev had a battled with it and killed the devilish snake. By the time all the water of lake had evaporated. The shape of the gorge looked like a handi (a pot with a narrow opening and wide body).

 Second story is quite intriguiting - There was a one Britisher named Mr. Handi who committed suicide by jumping off the precipice beacause of the this reason, it is also known as suicide point..

   In the another version with same Mr.Handi had the terrible accident n his car fell in this deep gorge. As per me Mr. Handi was killed here, it came to be known as Handi kho or Andhi kho. 

 However, In today's date this place is a tourist spot and at this point you will find locals selling maggie, chai (tea), lemon water, wild bushy berries and fruits available in flora of the area. Moreover, you can see the churagargh Mahadev temple far from here by paying just rupees 5/- from telescope or binoculars, some of them offering horse riding and instant photogragh for ₹100/- per ride. 

These are the sources of livilihood for the people of Pachmarhi.
